What is Neuroplasticity?

Neuro = brain. Think neurons, neuroscience, and the nervous system. 


Plasticity = moldable, like plastic.

How is Neuroplasticity Related to Chronic Illness & Mental Health?



Mind-body = the brain and body are connected. 

Heal the brain, heal the body!


Exposure, trauma, stress, or even DNA can set the stage for a "perfect storm" -

a series of unfortunate events.

The load is simply too heavy to withstand, causing the brain to get stuck in "emergency-mode."

In "emergency-mode", the brain responds as if there is a constant life-threatening situation -

like if you were running from a tiger 24-hours a day. Poof! Chronic illness. 

Years later, you've tried every treatment and nothing has worked.

Why? Because you haven't trained your brain to function differently.

Yay! Neuroplasticity will teach you the tools of balance needed to heal your mind and physiology, always with an enormous emphasis on fun, play and individuality.


Incorporating practical neuroscience, neuro-linguistic programming, cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal Family Systems (or parts work), attachment theory and positive psychology for a "top-down" approach (thought-based). As well as neutralizing the unconscious trauma patterns and belief systems using somatic experiencing and nervous system regulation for a "bottom-up" approach (body-based). *I adamantly believe you do not need to relive trauma in order to heal it. To heal, the brain and body needs to learn how to function and feel safe using D.O.S.E. (dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins). Fun and play are skills, and Yay!
